Roof Garden - Livingston
When the client moved into this property there was already in existence a timber decked floor, but this was ribbed and screwed and didn’t reflect the quality of the interior. We used the sub-base and laid plain sawn new deck boards screwed then plugged to give a better quality. We also put a matching handrail to the balustrade which tied it all in well. The over-scaled pots were planted as mini-gardens using multi-stemmed silver birch ( Betula utilis Door.jacquemontii ) and Eucalyptus gunii. Then we had metal powder-coated containers made up to match the interior colour of the walls (interior designed by Seiriol Tomos ) planted with Betula pendula and assorted herbaceous plants. Springtime adds a wonderfull flush of colour after a bleak winter.
