Show Garden - Chelsea Flower Show 1994
Mr Maidments garden was the first show garden I exhibited in 1994 at the Chelsea Flower Show, and the idea behind it was to bring the derelict greenhouse from a country estate in Dorset, with part of the walled garden it sits within and re-create the Garden around it by the old Head Gardener Mr Maidment. This broke the mould at Chelsea,as I believe it couldn’t be assessed as the gardens are normally as it didn’t fit within the criteria, but when judged was awarded a Gold Medal. At this time I was the youngest person to win a Gold Medal for a garden at Chelsea. We were sponsored by You Magazine and Yardley. Photography Clive Nichols
